In the interests of economy and to stimulate your creativity in bridge design we are offering a sturdy bridge deck which can provide the basis for your own do-it-yourself structure.

The design is identical to the Under Beam Bridge without its parapet rail. The deck can be used as supplied. However we are sure the modeller in you will want to add some timber decking or a parapet rail of some kind.

Up to 1 metre in length the deck should be rigid enough to be installed only with end supports. Above 1 metre we would suggest some form of intermediate support(s), e.g. brick or stone pier, timber block or trestle.

On an experimental basis we will supply the structure in kit form consisting of the two main side beams, cross beams, diagonal bracing and longitudinal track supports. All will be predrilled to take sufficient 6 BA brass screws included in the pack to assemble the deck.

CONSTRUCTION
Main Beams: 25mm x 25mm inverted 'T' section
Cross Beams: 16mm x 16mm channel
Longitudinal Track Supports: 25mm x 3mm bar

DIMENSIONS
As with our Under Beam Bridges, the Basic Bridge Deck can be supplied in lengths from 500mm to 2000mm and in widths to suit your own railway, i.e. single/double track, Roundhouse/Mamod widths
