Model Bridges for the Narrow Gauge Garden Railway

Following an enquiry regarding the parapet posts and rails we fit on our Under Beam Bridges, we are prepared to supply parapets which can be attached to wooden track decks.

Description
Aluminium angle posts supplied with two galvanised wire rails and two predrilled holes for screwing posts to deck sides. Complete parapet supplied per metre of track includes two lengths to attach to each side of the track/bridge deck.  Parapet posts: 9mm x 9mm aluminium angle 100mm in length with one angled top edge Post spacing: 120mm to 150mm Wire Rail 2mm holes spaced 10mm and 40mm from the top Wire Rail: 2mm diameter galvanised wire 'rope' pre-threaded through post holes The galvanised wire is threaded through the top set of holes in the posts then looped back at each end of the bridge through the lower set of holes until it is joined near the centre of the bridge.  The parapet posts are usually set to 'face' in one direction.

Fitting should be fairly straightforward. With continuous railing consisting of 8/9 posts per metre pre-threaded on
galvanised wire 'railing' you would just need to mark off the spacing on the side of your track deck and use two small screws to fix each post.
Once in place you only need to pull the loop in the wire at each end to take up any slack in the wire and straighten the rail.
By not fixing the wire to each post it can't be permanently bent by accidental knocks, etc.

The wire is flexible enough to allow it to be looped and loosely packed for delivery without it developing any kinks or bends.
