This is a new page which we hope will change on a regular basis to keep modellers informed of developments at MVL Bridges. We also intend to use it to report on more general bridge matters which we feel may be of interest to narrow gauge modellers.
STONELEIGH 2011
DECK TRUSS GIRDER No.1
In 2011 we produced our first Deck Truss Girder Bridge and, as with most of our orders, it was a bespoke model at 1150mm in length.
The Deck Truss arrangement uses our standard vertical and diagonal girder construction similar to the Pony Truss. However the truss is below the deck level and the track is supported by cross beams at the top.
There are no side structures each side of the track way on the bridge but, as in the case of bridge no.1, parapet rails can be erected on each side.
Our debut at Stoneleigh was a great success. Many people took the opportunity to take a close look at the bridges we had on display and went away determined to get the tape measure out and get their order in.
It was great to meet so many happy customers face to face and hear how successful the installation of their bridges had been.
Several of the display bridges were purchased at the Show and orders left for additional bridges.
Since then we have been working on a great variety of sizes and shapes. Fortunately having moved into a slightly larger workshop completion of the longer spans is so much easier.
