The Basic Bridge Deck provides a simple durable replacement for the humble plank of wood without the expense of a more complex structure. Consisting of only a pair of main beams, cross beams, diagonal bracing (if required) and track plates, the bridge deck gives ample support for spans up to one metre. As it has no supporting structure above or below the deck it relies entirely on the integrity of the main beams for its strength. It can be used with confidence to quickly and economically bridge those shorter gaps.
